Obenewa Amponsah

Coach, Facilitator, Storyteller, Obenewa Amponsah & Associates

I believe that in order to create a just and equitable future, in which race is not a determinant of a person’s opportunities in life, every member of society needs to become an activist, ally, or advocate, addressing anti-Black racism and other biases in their daily lives.

Obenewa Amponsah was previously the Executive Director of Harvard’s Center for African Studies’ Africa Office (CAS). Before CAS she was CEO of the Steve Biko Foundation, a community development organization inspired by the late activist. Of Ghanaian descent, Obenewa was born and raised in the US where she graduated from Boston University before pursuing her masters at University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Alongside her work as a leader in non-profit organizations. She sees herself as a catalyst for personal, professional and social growth in the lives of individuals and organizations.
