Chief Advancement Officer, Tides Advocacy


Jessica Mofield (she/her) is Chief Advancement Officer at Tides Advocacy, where she oversees sustainability and communications strategy. She also supports the organisation’s reparations framework and leverages storytelling to shift narratives about the power of grassroots organisations.

Before joining Tides Advocacy, Jessica served as the executive director for the New York City Mayor’s Office to Prevent Gun Violence (OPGV). She was also a founding leader of the New York City Office of Neighborhood Safety. There, she led the vision, growth, and strategy of New York City’s $150M gun violence initiatives to transform government’s approach to public safety, community investment, and social justice.

With over ten years of management experience, Jessica previously held posts as the deputy executive director of OPGV and the deputy director of the Community Engagement Unit at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. In addition, she is a licensed mental health clinician and has provided culturally informed therapeutic support to over 200 justice-involved men and women.

Jessica earned a master’s degree in Counselling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia State University. Go Trojans!
