Tisa Rodriguez

 

Leadership Consultant and Environmental Planner


Tisa Rodriguez is a first-generation American on her father’s side, with a Mexican heritage deeply rooted in the Yaqui diaspora. On her mother’s side, she comes from a long lineage of Black civil rights activists with deep roots in the church in Virginia. She was raised in a military family and spent most of her childhood in Imperial County, California.

Tisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California Lutheran University and is currently pursuing a master’s with a dual concentration in Conflict Resolution and Sustainability Law from Arizona State University (graduating in late 2022). She plans to pursue a doctorate in anthropology with a focus on intersectional leadership and activism.

Tisa has 16 years of experience in environmental planning, with expertise in transportation infrastructure in Southern California and Northern Arizona, gained through experience in the public and private sectors. She currently serves as chair of the March Joint Powers Authority Technical Advisory Committee.

Tisa is always looking for ways to help her community progress. She currently serves as chair of the Riverside County Democratic Party, southern vice chair of the California Democratic Party Women’s Caucus and secretary of the NAACP Riverside Branch. She has previously been a 2012 and 2020 DNC Delegate, and co-chair of the California Democratic Party Platform Committee.

She is a member of the California/Hawaii NAACP Women In the NAACP (WIN) Committee, the Mayor of Riverside, CA’s Bipartisan Forum, and the Riverside County Board of Supervisor’s Election Security Advisory Committee.
