Aaron Butler

Aaron Butler is an assistant federal defender for the Western District of Texas in the Capital Habeas Unit. He represents death-sentenced inmates in Texas federal courts. Before moving to Texas, he worked as a staff attorney for the Federal Defenders in the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he also focused on capital post-conviction litigation.

Aaron currently serves as an International Legal Foundation Attorney Fellow, where he assists lawyers in Myanmar on capital cases. He received his bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and his law degree from Tulane Law School.

In his free time, Aaron enjoys old-school soca and reading science fiction.
