LEADING EDUCATION JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS HOST
“Education Equity or Else” National Virtual Townhall on the Education Needs of Black, Brown and Under-Served Communities During and Post COVID-19 Pandemic
COVID-19 has laid bare—and dramatically deepened—the already existing unconscionable inequities in our nation’s public education system. This is a pivotal moment—pushing education to the forefront for 2020 state and presidential elections as well as critical policy and budget investment decisions. Especially in communities of color, education equity and opportunity is a strong mobilizing force—and support for solutions developed by those closest to the problems will be a major demand to candidates and policymakers across the country.
WHO: More than 2000 parents, students and educators will come together in a virtual townhall to hear and respond to a progressive education platform presented by:
Zakiyah Ansari, iadvocacy director of New York’s Alliance for Quality Education
Jitu Brown, national director of the Journey for Justice Alliance (J4J)
HOSTED BY: Journey for Justice Alliance, Righteous Rage Institute and the Schott Foundation for Public Education
