The 2018 Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity are grassroots activists, writers, lawyers, academics, artists and strategists working in diverse communities across the United States and South Africa. Their work is paving new pathways to achieve true equity – fairer, healthier, more inclusive societies – for all.

My hope is that by 2041 we would live in a society in which everyone sees and truly conducts themselves as an activist, ally or advocate, that addressing racism would not be a ‘Black problem’ but a societal concern.
— Obenewa Amponsah, Atlantic Fellow (Residency)
I hope my work can be a reminder that our wings are meant for the sky, that we are unlimited in our potential for change and that the power to be fully determined in our communities is our own.
— Thenmozhi Soundararajan, Atlantic Fellow (Advanced Leadership)
